Roofing and Siding in Cypress Canyon

Houses built from 2007 on at the canyon edge off Anderson Mill Road, toward Lake Travis. The lots slope, and a sloping lot changes both the roof and the walls.

What a Slope Does to a House

A neighborhood guide published by bramlett partners, an austin-area brokerage places Cypress Canyon between Lime Creek Road and Anderson Mill Road, describes it as being at the edge of the Texas Hill Country with rolling hills and canyon views, and dates it from 2007 onward. It is part of a larger homeowners association.

On a lot that falls away at the back, the downhill wall is taller than the street side suggests. A house that looks like one story from the curb can have two stories of wall, mostly siding, facing the canyon. That wall takes the wind, gets the least attention, and needs scaffold or a lift to work on.

When you call, say how tall the back wall is. It changes the equipment and the price.

Wind on the Rim

Houses along a canyon edge are more exposed than houses in the middle of a flat subdivision. Wind damage shows up first at ridge caps, at the rake edges of gables and on the windward slope. After any strong storm, look at the ridge line from the street for caps out of line.

See roof repair.

Brush Below the Fence

A canyon view is a view of cedar and grass on a slope, and fire moves uphill. Of the neighborhoods on this site, this is one where the roof edge, the vents and the gutters on the downhill side most deserve a look with embers in mind.

See roofs on the fire edge. Also confirm whether your address is inside Cedar Park city limits, since the neighborhood is at the city's edge and the city's permit rules apply only inside them.
