Roofing and Siding in Volente
A village of 561 people on the north shore of Lake Travis that has had a post office since 1886 and did not incorporate until 2003.
No Pattern to Rely On
Volente covers 2.1 square miles and counted 561 residents in 2020, up from 520 in 2010. A place that small, settled since the 1800s and incorporated only in 2003, has no builder's subdivision to generalize from. There are old lake cabins, ranch houses and large custom homes, each built by someone different.
For a roofing or siding contractor that means nothing can be assumed from the address. The roof may be shingle, metal or something else, the walls may be stone, wood or fiber cement, and the house may have been added to more than once. The first visit is a real survey.
What to Have Ready
- Roughly when the house was built and when it was last re-roofed, if you know.
- What the roof and walls are made of.
- How a truck gets to the house, and whether the drive is steep or narrow.
- Whether you live there full time.

Village Rules
Volente is its own municipality in Travis County. Its building requirements were not read for this site, and Cedar Park's do not apply. The contractor should confirm with the village before starting.
Like the other lake towns, houses here sit among cedar and oak on limestone slopes. See roofs on the fire edge.
